I’m Dr. Wesley Detrick, and let me first say I’m proud to be a chiropractor! I do what I do because I enjoy helping people. First a quick run-down on my qualifications:
- Doctor of Chiropractic - Cleveland Chiropractic College, Kansas City (Summa Cum Laude 2005)
- Master of Science – Emporia State University (Cum Laude, 1999)
- Bachelor of Science – Oklahoma Baptist University (1989)
- Practiced in Missouri 2005 to 2007
- Practiced in Kansas since 2007 – Kansas Board of Healing Arts
My greatest claim to fame is my family! I have a wonderful wife and five beautiful children. We love life and enjoy sharing that love with others. I also enjoy learning! That’s why I enjoyed my twelve years teaching chemistry, physics, and math so much. It was a great learning experience! But I wanted to expand my horizons and learn more about achieving and maintaining health. Here’s what I have learned:
- Health is your most valuable earthly possession – without that, it is much more difficult to accomplish your goals and your purpose in life.
- America is in a serious health crisis and it’s largely because of bad information and poor choices.
- Chronic Pain signals an underlying problem and should not be ignored. It causes a constant drain on your systems. It distracts you from pursuing and accomplishing your goals. It can lead to hopelessness and depression.
- Drugs and surgery, the two most commonly prescribed solutions for pain, often create more health problems than they solve. Your body perceives them as an assault and whenever possible, they should be avoided.
- Chiropractic doctors are uniquely qualified to address the proper care and maintenance of the human body by working with it, not against it.
As a chiropractor, every day is still about learning and teaching! I listen to my patients and learn about the issues important to their health. I strive to bring the most up-to-date knowledge and equipment into my practice. I teach my patients the natural principles of health care and the importance of maintaining their health pro-actively.
